Despite all the awesome travel we got to do, we are looking forward to a calmer year. And to start the year off right it is my oldest daughters birthday in January, last year we had a princess themed party complete with all the Disney fixin's, this year we are amp-ing it up with a Rock Star theme. However, with 5+ birthdays in my family in January I think we shall have to theme this month for banners. All kinds of banners and pennants. First up is last years birthday banner for my daughters birthday, all princessed up.

I used my handy Cricut Expression to cut all the banners from Close to my Heart's Art Philosophy along with thier decorative elements at 5.5". The paper was Close to my Heart cardstock and Disney Mega Pack from EK Success. The letters were cut out of Colorbok glitter cardstock with the Cricut Paper Lace cartridge which has an awesome font on it. String it up with a fancy ribbon and we are ready to party!Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-42535602391027858162012-11-29T16:28:00.003-08:002012-11-29T16:28:58.933-08:00Swirly Thank YouA classic two tone Thank You card. Not sure if the paper is Heidi Swapp or not, I have had it that long,but the cardstock is Close to my Heart's Cocoa color. Some swirly stamping on the cardstock and fun elements as a whole.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3QCxfSNNU8zikYhO239GK1x5oud9wfFF5EQ_oQszIJgovE5hd1qmHBtZI6ooueG3zkRX8fMOLk7H7kEONJDUW8Y7N5txt5RD7lKzxYT8RqtVk00VbSWasKZYEnUBCVbuDBSVjeKlFBKs/s1600/Card-SwirlyThankYou-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3QCxfSNNU8zikYhO239GK1x5oud9wfFF5EQ_oQszIJgovE5hd1qmHBtZI6ooueG3zkRX8fMOLk7H7kEONJDUW8Y7N5txt5RD7lKzxYT8RqtVk00VbSWasKZYEnUBCVbuDBSVjeKlFBKs/s320/Card-SwirlyThankYou-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
I cut the plaque with Cricut - Art Philosophy, then used the layer function and cut the 'Bamboo' color. Used a piece of Bamboo to showcase the Basic Grey RubOn and embellished with Close to my Heart's Opaque pearls.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSfpaCNVw08m3UyQyn8Tz4qL-EkVoTEDoYlsK8In9tYnw67fmpjMwGjPb6JyE5zwoIjV-w5FXqkawz_enTd-ESrxVueo1hIlnMNWF1P0vlrMexW5QvwnH7wHTMGZKA8iUHG7_MHcvE_vY/s1600/Card-SwirlyThankYou-CloseUp-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="229" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSfpaCNVw08m3UyQyn8Tz4qL-EkVoTEDoYlsK8In9tYnw67fmpjMwGjPb6JyE5zwoIjV-w5FXqkawz_enTd-ESrxVueo1hIlnMNWF1P0vlrMexW5QvwnH7wHTMGZKA8iUHG7_MHcvE_vY/s320/Card-SwirlyThankYou-CloseUp-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
To finish the card we used the negative from the Bamboo layer on the inside so people could write thier names and it's stylish!

I also used Close to my Hearts Cricut Cartridge - Art Philosophy for the great layered tag in the center.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit2Jj99sHdENmreUWFBuIxekRCeuDrhfVdm3UY6I8hBhbRn_fXtgdkSAazuJkxohS7p_Un1NtUU8lA4AKoayzKXYYdG5GC680b1iIZPK4pdYn1dR6YIVHy-Bv-noTXKhg5KIP1zCMl038/s1600/Card-HarvestThankYou-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="266" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit2Jj99sHdENmreUWFBuIxekRCeuDrhfVdm3UY6I8hBhbRn_fXtgdkSAazuJkxohS7p_Un1NtUU8lA4AKoayzKXYYdG5GC680b1iIZPK4pdYn1dR6YIVHy-Bv-noTXKhg5KIP1zCMl038/s320/Card-HarvestThankYou-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
I first started by distressing the background, using the CTMH sanding paper, I distressed all the paper. It creates the great denim, rough feeling which goes with the rich fall colors of the paper.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_zK1-uG4EfDeJIrqhyCDyHyxzpY60yLcuBDGaTXj6WiVeQnOLQ3LkNdocTwIy9KuEpTTyFtXD2ulfFKYQewJMr0K7abIRQEPW338EdKNCFIwMSqmznDIgVGAOqgXBr-XsWCZYrEzWuaw/s1600/Card-HarvestThankYou-CloseUp1-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_zK1-uG4EfDeJIrqhyCDyHyxzpY60yLcuBDGaTXj6WiVeQnOLQ3LkNdocTwIy9KuEpTTyFtXD2ulfFKYQewJMr0K7abIRQEPW338EdKNCFIwMSqmznDIgVGAOqgXBr-XsWCZYrEzWuaw/s320/Card-HarvestThankYou-CloseUp1-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
Close to my Heart usually has coordinating cardstock weight stickers along wth other coordinating products. Here I used the coordinating cardstock stickers and Antique Copper Brads to punch the rough, mascuine feeling in the card.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaNLTig6gBxz2INaGQ2RrntCsrPFBgfzy4h-4vPPQ3Tf8YWngc7TAUFjf7Ie_1hdSbbBbcJLuJIWKoPFSl_JI_K3LZIwGDvxCoCghOb4hLzPPHE1KVBjEp1XOcvAGXVNWVeshNFmWQibs/s1600/Card-HarvestThankYou-CloseUp2-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaNLTig6gBxz2INaGQ2RrntCsrPFBgfzy4h-4vPPQ3Tf8YWngc7TAUFjf7Ie_1hdSbbBbcJLuJIWKoPFSl_JI_K3LZIwGDvxCoCghOb4hLzPPHE1KVBjEp1XOcvAGXVNWVeshNFmWQibs/s320/Card-HarvestThankYou-CloseUp2-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
Here is where the masuline feeling gets thown out the window with this great cardstock weight Heart sticker, so cute, I just couldn't resist.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibcWXMcKdHv9S5gPhzaZp8KPms-PbskUQzfJKYUWWiodrP575Uu5wdzvDEJt_T2DmeCjno7MQSp9UFzJ8ZGMMa0_EYuvf8RIvx4A0mCUKi9sxloHorj5hbwwzh8OhkBOHaHFC1DAbNqj8/s1600/Card-HarvestThankYou-CloseUp3-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibcWXMcKdHv9S5gPhzaZp8KPms-PbskUQzfJKYUWWiodrP575Uu5wdzvDEJt_T2DmeCjno7MQSp9UFzJ8ZGMMa0_EYuvf8RIvx4A0mCUKi9sxloHorj5hbwwzh8OhkBOHaHFC1DAbNqj8/s320/Card-HarvestThankYou-CloseUp3-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
And we fnish it all off with the inside of the card, a great blue (Twilight Blue), with cardstock sticker and Close to my Heart stamp in Cocoa Brown.

I took my favorte element on the page and used it the main focus on the card.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkWS6iwzUNNOmSpgkM75tZjWE_SYvg0rRl9VSIwh7LwH_110trGZ3NoJqeIVL0TuHAZ_8IBOS5BsnlDlDpQPo3OiGSONjIlHvcjl6HN1w3VhkaViRC_i3ojf-J_czyNbV1n-FfN3wMW0I/s1600/Card-FramedThankYou-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkWS6iwzUNNOmSpgkM75tZjWE_SYvg0rRl9VSIwh7LwH_110trGZ3NoJqeIVL0TuHAZ_8IBOS5BsnlDlDpQPo3OiGSONjIlHvcjl6HN1w3VhkaViRC_i3ojf-J_czyNbV1n-FfN3wMW0I/s320/Card-FramedThankYou-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
This stripey grey and the off white/ivory/gold shiny ribbon and Rhinestones seem to be the trend lately, unusual color combinations. I also used a Basic Grey Rub On for the Thank You, relatvely simple but kinda elegant.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL5MzaDEvaM4BdI6w3VaxTY8YXSZLdVElXjGOlwjmMEplAR8Rt0Z3ME3uk6RUc_5_XmTFVD7RdaTa0dJGYFA8h1YY_9Mga8wQefTYjzI9NpebCHBERzY97Y2OFaPOhqe8rqFw0g_GljQc/s1600/Card-FramedThankYou-CloseUp-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="229" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL5MzaDEvaM4BdI6w3VaxTY8YXSZLdVElXjGOlwjmMEplAR8Rt0Z3ME3uk6RUc_5_XmTFVD7RdaTa0dJGYFA8h1YY_9Mga8wQefTYjzI9NpebCHBERzY97Y2OFaPOhqe8rqFw0g_GljQc/s320/Card-FramedThankYou-CloseUp-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
Let's see what the next card has to offer..Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-52810364954885531142012-11-29T04:16:00.003-08:002012-11-29T04:19:00.109-08:00Fully Thank{Full} CardThought this monthe I would do a series of just Thank You cards. I had fallen in love with Basic Grey's Mellow Collection, with the colors, images, design, everything. So when I had some pieces left over I decided to make a great card.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4eVfENUvrGXuz-siDHI6AA_ns2dRSVrUH-neloJPuZaaOLexlldMx28otGn7sfeIVriIcfjaeW2xkWERyqnM0-TUfqFOLtqmJphR_6cUJ5DTupmgcdvq9-oJ4u7I8q58BSPypumqzrL4/s1600/Card-BGThankfull-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="253" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4eVfENUvrGXuz-siDHI6AA_ns2dRSVrUH-neloJPuZaaOLexlldMx28otGn7sfeIVriIcfjaeW2xkWERyqnM0-TUfqFOLtqmJphR_6cUJ5DTupmgcdvq9-oJ4u7I8q58BSPypumqzrL4/s320/Card-BGThankfull-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
I had just enough cardstock to do a long side fold card, I also purchased the coordinating die cuts, so I punched out the flowers on the sheet. Layering the flowers and popping a brad in the middle, I misted them with water and started squeezing and pushing the petals into place, the out come is this great 3D flower on the front.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3eeALyPF-wNhkxNuXpqvCUnXbrDmJPW8YAIedoA0U086UMsh2kGKRG07GnWDAuAHdZ23LAQdt3dOT2oLBwNzmkq9lA53MCqFSfRBEXTZRShdMUiULpoy-9jlxe_kve_mQNCdUsgz54zw/s1600/Card-BGThankfull-CloseUp1-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="279" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3eeALyPF-wNhkxNuXpqvCUnXbrDmJPW8YAIedoA0U086UMsh2kGKRG07GnWDAuAHdZ23LAQdt3dOT2oLBwNzmkq9lA53MCqFSfRBEXTZRShdMUiULpoy-9jlxe_kve_mQNCdUsgz54zw/s320/Card-BGThankfull-CloseUp1-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
In my stash was some random Creatve Memories stickers and there I found the perfect sentiment. I finished the card front with some cute amber jewels highlighting the great images in the paper.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKA-h7QfzLppwqU2fiAN2zJaA4MsA_frenc1mpMQD93mg-6TJN0vlvF5rfeg5nN4lmWHHebiKo5MyHkzVaqvLCmfFlCquxLDNHtHvJktBwcQmpxgOsFbVU2UQ_7FpqfJDAuC1PPumMJNQ/s1600/Card-BGThankfull-CloseUp2-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="216" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKA-h7QfzLppwqU2fiAN2zJaA4MsA_frenc1mpMQD93mg-6TJN0vlvF5rfeg5nN4lmWHHebiKo5MyHkzVaqvLCmfFlCquxLDNHtHvJktBwcQmpxgOsFbVU2UQ_7FpqfJDAuC1PPumMJNQ/s320/Card-BGThankfull-CloseUp2-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
Lately, for me, a card is not complete without some paper on the inside too. It uses up the extra pieces I would have normally thrown away and it looks pretty.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS5RJ5DC8KHvqeF40ye1tUHsFvTQojsUVCm1FGis8xIB3wNhu6kj7NJVslj8P2phPjO_W3S3pFeAjDW7519DJfWkGLEK4jLwWiaZRLwPTHqG1gipu3eFPiVOS7vCJy8mK1k4Im0GUDFwM/s1600/Card-BGThankfull-Inside-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="185" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS5RJ5DC8KHvqeF40ye1tUHsFvTQojsUVCm1FGis8xIB3wNhu6kj7NJVslj8P2phPjO_W3S3pFeAjDW7519DJfWkGLEK4jLwWiaZRLwPTHqG1gipu3eFPiVOS7vCJy8mK1k4Im0GUDFwM/s320/Card-BGThankfull-Inside-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
A success I think, I just wish I had more of that paper...

<br /></div>
I have started up my scrapbook classes again here in Yuzhno and for the second class we did a really sweet layout using Close to my Heart's More to Adore discontinued paper pack. My daughter Rylie was born in 2010 and I had yet to scrapbook her pictures, I know, bad me! But I fixed up my pictures and changed them to sepia toned which suited the paper pack perfectly.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I used my Gypsy to cut out the letters, Gypsy Font I used, then I welded the letters together so they would cut as a single piece. I inked every single piece of paper and placed my pictures down, then I cut out a locket from ...well, I can't remember. But it all turned out very sweetly if you ask me. I cut the paper for next class already so stay tuned for the next awesome layout. Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-26554597851583290302012-10-28T22:39:00.002-07:002012-10-28T22:40:52.039-07:00Trendy Chevron Thank You CardTrying to get back into a routine since summer so I might have a bunch of posts in a row. I have been busily making cards and other goodies for the upcoming Christmas Bazaar here in Yuzhno, mostly cards as my focus will be on the kids section of the bazaar. But I have got to make something, my creative juices continue to flow! So with the trend of chevron design I decided to make a chevron using a diagonal design I had in my stash.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC9p3egDdb-fOsdU17hQeiFiV5r_kkFLKtElmCIjtyLkMpgbCWOfmKP2-VqYsqeGGNoJRFGUBoGt8tm7mR0D7nF9Qa0fkGBu_jyv2hITBV0557T0SmcCNKjKBURQYoZFYF0U6KBt3z5b4/s1600/Card-ChevronThankYou-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC9p3egDdb-fOsdU17hQeiFiV5r_kkFLKtElmCIjtyLkMpgbCWOfmKP2-VqYsqeGGNoJRFGUBoGt8tm7mR0D7nF9Qa0fkGBu_jyv2hITBV0557T0SmcCNKjKBURQYoZFYF0U6KBt3z5b4/s320/Card-ChevronThankYou-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also had a great Thank You rub on from Basic Grey in my stash as well. So with the help of adhesive pearls and cardstock from Close to my Heart a great monochromatic card was created.
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPH2oP3GK__HaOhWcQNHQ5S3fnj6fl0LWT7kp_BxZtuuRZdI6PeOyUdEkNd7FXFizcOVhJqSeojlg7POO3uA2l9Us4OlnHTl-0r2ONkGyTcwBhvl4tD1utW5pZjw0O7u7mzwhVIQy4qXY/s1600/Card-ChevronThankYou-CloseUp-CarissaPeach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="240" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPH2oP3GK__HaOhWcQNHQ5S3fnj6fl0LWT7kp_BxZtuuRZdI6PeOyUdEkNd7FXFizcOVhJqSeojlg7POO3uA2l9Us4OlnHTl-0r2ONkGyTcwBhvl4tD1utW5pZjw0O7u7mzwhVIQy4qXY/s320/Card-ChevronThankYou-CloseUp-CarissaPeach.JPG" /></a></div>
I hope it sells for charity and I have many more cards to show you.

I quite enjoy planning class for our scrapbook group, it's kinda like a puzzle, what to do here, what goes there. I also like to do different layouts for different papers, case in point, our next class I used Close to my Heart Sarsaparilla paper pack. Sarsaparilla has some great cowboy elements, I tend to like the flourished that are through out the papers.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This layout if from the CTMH layout book called Imagine. The name of the layout is Role Play and it boasts 8 photographs. I actually had a hard time finding my event that had 8+ pictures in it. But once I found it, everything fell into place. We ended up going to Evans Mountain in Colorado which, I believe, had the highest point in the Rockies that you could drive up to. This river area was near the top. I did happen to get some great pictures of our little trip and loved the way they play with the paper.

To keep with the 'natural' photos and theme I added these great twill ribbons to lighten and add some horizontal lines to the page.

I was looking for something fun to put on the page to capture the eye. I have the matching CTMH Acrylix Stamp called 'Western Flourishes' and stamps those great stamps in some of the white space.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7xd3JGW4yqmGWbl6GbVA7UhrDatSn-eZXXUbcp3-io7KnJVI_2bFVGo3bXW10yU4I6uGgYqVcw9DoTa76jfpBIka-FHIZW9BL33v6ceFn3m99GIZ5fmAn92X55LYDT8vLiBAjJt9Lzes/s1600/Sarsparilla+Class+Layout+Close+Up+3+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="205" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7xd3JGW4yqmGWbl6GbVA7UhrDatSn-eZXXUbcp3-io7KnJVI_2bFVGo3bXW10yU4I6uGgYqVcw9DoTa76jfpBIka-FHIZW9BL33v6ceFn3m99GIZ5fmAn92X55LYDT8vLiBAjJt9Lzes/s320/Sarsparilla+Class+Layout+Close+Up+3+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
Next I broke out the Cricut and cut a fun title from the Country Life Cartridge and chose 'Cool, Clean Water', to reflect the water in the pictures. I really like the way the layout turned out, of course after the class is done I will add some extra embellishment to make this layout uniquely mine.Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-48362801754365470502012-04-22T04:53:00.001-07:002012-04-22T04:56:15.992-07:00Mojo Monday Challenge #237Up for the next challenge was Mojo Monday, and thier latest sketch. A cute little sketch and everyone one loved it there are lots of entries. I was having a challenge figuring out what to do with 4, not 3, jumpy circles? I could do flowers, but most of the ladies did those, I could do the actual circle, too cliche, or I could do butterflies? To many ideas, I ended up thinking about it for a day and realized that what hangs not at the same level are lanterns, the are never just in a straight line, so with some asian inspiration I dug out my Pagoda cricut cartridge.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9mhpdR-gkUsoQwFiI9NVZUSpvOIlMHrtpEVUDGkPjsjocmTkqce3UpCW0oWnA_HAc_5VwZwJN5Kh01MCdAhzxXHUS7puHEPI6IlJO56FY4G0lz4zchKQ9iS1GaC9xKg3LWBXFz8621m8/s1600/Mojo237Sketch.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="276" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9mhpdR-gkUsoQwFiI9NVZUSpvOIlMHrtpEVUDGkPjsjocmTkqce3UpCW0oWnA_HAc_5VwZwJN5Kh01MCdAhzxXHUS7puHEPI6IlJO56FY4G0lz4zchKQ9iS1GaC9xKg3LWBXFz8621m8/s320/Mojo237Sketch.png" /></a></div>
There are awesome lanterns, dolls, fish lanterns, pandas, anything with an asian theme you can think of on this cartridge and other than this card I have used it once. It was a great layout that I will probably post another day but hopefully soon we will visit China or Japan and that cartridge will be smoking that day! :)
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It is also full of Kanji characters, each page has a different word, and even though there is no birthday...celebrate is a great way to say happy birthday anyway, or anything else for that matter.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiE7_XJw4tjgzrOUYb1Wisv-s-CAJ7wGgMSL4kRPURl1hx2kCPvHBlyRNP0YDVB-r9Zgk3Wo182OjtazN5enpYRA54uWCUowsS22hPT_hcnCYFDFbLyj7LWGvej6MTNINaIMNzD2sgHI5s/s1600/Celebrate+Lanterns+Inside+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="211" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiE7_XJw4tjgzrOUYb1Wisv-s-CAJ7wGgMSL4kRPURl1hx2kCPvHBlyRNP0YDVB-r9Zgk3Wo182OjtazN5enpYRA54uWCUowsS22hPT_hcnCYFDFbLyj7LWGvej6MTNINaIMNzD2sgHI5s/s320/Celebrate+Lanterns+Inside+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
It was looking pretty plain with just the paper so I decided to add some jewels, maybe it kinda looks like fireworks, too much Kung Fu Panda for me, and sprinkled them around.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT5q64pi3a_JNEstOfowO9krd0t_0ptpVhGqI9k4T0om8xo_dShn6PUfzFcfn1GcdHOZACltKyBrI69mpOhzx-vWPfIlB1jUTQqBXFOWD0d9XioXkb-MJx2-VQfD1akNCHGHHwy6dg7Mg/s1600/Celebrate+Lanterns+Close+Up+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="305" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT5q64pi3a_JNEstOfowO9krd0t_0ptpVhGqI9k4T0om8xo_dShn6PUfzFcfn1GcdHOZACltKyBrI69mpOhzx-vWPfIlB1jUTQqBXFOWD0d9XioXkb-MJx2-VQfD1akNCHGHHwy6dg7Mg/s320/Celebrate+Lanterns+Close+Up+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
Last but not least, I looked at the sketch again and saw that it needed a label or ribbon down near the bottom, but I wasn't going to put any words on the front, so I was thinking I needed a fan, but where would I find that? So next idea, I had some wider red grosgrain ribbon and ended up folding that across the card for an awesome pop of color.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjdvIF_Mbu-YlRL7kN_uqMHphipN-a0isaXS57zRf9dfAbc2kLXCjIrY6mcz9e0RlutNMbGzYOfHTEG131tqXt12uBIInyA3o6F7ykPGz1kgNfOFKAE7J64CgpWub-WQCDNFkt4eqNXjs/s1600/Celebrate+Lanterns+Close+Up+2+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="276" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjdvIF_Mbu-YlRL7kN_uqMHphipN-a0isaXS57zRf9dfAbc2kLXCjIrY6mcz9e0RlutNMbGzYOfHTEG131tqXt12uBIInyA3o6F7ykPGz1kgNfOFKAE7J64CgpWub-WQCDNFkt4eqNXjs/s320/Celebrate+Lanterns+Close+Up+2+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
All in all I thought it turned out pretty nice, even with all the thinking going on. Want to play the next card challenge? On Mondays of course, see the next sketch --><a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/">HERE</a>Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-19670676972858844412012-04-20T19:11:00.002-07:002012-04-20T19:14:54.360-07:00Clean & Simple Challenge #185I ended up joining some challenge sites lately to get some extra inspiration. One of them was Clean & Simple, no prizes but fun layouts, all cards so that should get me back up to my old stock level of cards as our Happy Hobby craft show wiped me out. This is the sketch:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8yJyCqr3AfGdNGPScEW3ATTr8rzm9fOWdqutR7d3FJ-DzFvF5KAg6VtVOvwQdSPQ4hF7MoNHDp4DIfSzlsNZh-KOUwgdMxbxpIBle9Qb0HmXsvBsUGBV7giUpEoQJNj6bCYy1v6u0UYk/s1600/FTL185.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="247" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8yJyCqr3AfGdNGPScEW3ATTr8rzm9fOWdqutR7d3FJ-DzFvF5KAg6VtVOvwQdSPQ4hF7MoNHDp4DIfSzlsNZh-KOUwgdMxbxpIBle9Qb0HmXsvBsUGBV7giUpEoQJNj6bCYy1v6u0UYk/s320/FTL185.jpg" /></a></div>
A simple sketch but with endless possibilities, if you want to see what others have made with this sketch you can go <a href="http://cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.com/">HERE! </a>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEithhigsxXK2U1qrivSfdecdB3uq-A9UPgHdW-39M93hjrLkJIqPahbETSJJBAJnjk_5zXgqeWek5xA-XH09o1Az1jo35wUOCN9yTiehSw8qWvLzQg8tENTf7UCOB8Rv6jp7bcmozuaj7Y/s1600/FTL185+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="248" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEithhigsxXK2U1qrivSfdecdB3uq-A9UPgHdW-39M93hjrLkJIqPahbETSJJBAJnjk_5zXgqeWek5xA-XH09o1Az1jo35wUOCN9yTiehSw8qWvLzQg8tENTf7UCOB8Rv6jp7bcmozuaj7Y/s320/FTL185+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
This is my version I put my self under the wire to make this card so with a little help from my cricut and Graphically Speaking cartridge I think it came together. I also have limited ribbon here and had to choose colors that went with my ribbon.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfYHK2aGR-3pxRCUkwhy5tf6bWisc-jNXYUp9LJF8Xhmu4Rt9Ryg2HpBD8uToSLx3LvoCD3NGxI7J5dML7kHVGpukACq6AVNg0vJMqb_Ei_HQCBSdnI1VSlLOsMbdWaL7oR2L59Sz2xXQ/s1600/FTL185+Inside+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="209" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfYHK2aGR-3pxRCUkwhy5tf6bWisc-jNXYUp9LJF8Xhmu4Rt9Ryg2HpBD8uToSLx3LvoCD3NGxI7J5dML7kHVGpukACq6AVNg0vJMqb_Ei_HQCBSdnI1VSlLOsMbdWaL7oR2L59Sz2xXQ/s320/FTL185+Inside+-+By+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
And of course the inside of the card can not be naked so with the leftover papers I put the rest of the sentiment on the inside!Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-5313849763463034992012-04-17T23:04:00.001-07:002012-04-17T23:06:27.387-07:00Floral Tapestry ClassFinally ready to get back in the swing of things, after the great Happy Hobby Craft Fair, many ladies here in Yuzhno have signed up for my email list promoting classes in one craft or another, first class is from my favorite, scrapbooking,
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmZ28jUQNWSUXc0hqb7dJxGNSZxFBW_9jlbHK0L6CKQGNuK1ytNiMdOAtRtp4pzGlIjLzIkGCHjYoVJlDp4IvY4DcdX2A1sox90uPYeoYe0UNJQLp84UB4USSCMQA36F7YRTpUmncDKgo/s1600/Floral+Tapestry+Class+Layout+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="164" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmZ28jUQNWSUXc0hqb7dJxGNSZxFBW_9jlbHK0L6CKQGNuK1ytNiMdOAtRtp4pzGlIjLzIkGCHjYoVJlDp4IvY4DcdX2A1sox90uPYeoYe0UNJQLp84UB4USSCMQA36F7YRTpUmncDKgo/s320/Floral+Tapestry+Class+Layout+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
What a great way to display pictures of your vacation, wedding, baby or life in general. This layout is about one of the most monumental days a kid can have, first day of school. Seeing as how the Yuzhno scrap booking stores are less than impressive and more expensive than my first born, I am providing all basic materials for this class, yes I still have a bunch of paper from when I was a Close to my Heart Consultant so as long as a dedicated few ladies want to learn, I have the materials. I have chosen a discontinued paper pack called Floral Tapestry, mostly because I want spring to be here, it is mid-April and there is still lots of snow on the ground but the temperatures are rising, we had to dig out the bikes this last weekend.
The Layout was chosen with great care to incorporate different size pictures and/or use pictures printed with all the same size, I steered to my Magic book by Jeanette Lynton, which has awesome scrapbook recipes in it. I decided to pre-cut all the paper for this layout with minimal variations between the kits. Each person will get a 'kit' with the paper, cardstock, and any other extra pieces that are needed for this project.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi42W3T4VgbZqGS9huUp8TATEbZzl4nHVRjhCdsjRr7SBzLZwzu2xFpX234G01d6ULxpcPPcxustnB5OaaZYq-EDl9yUOoN7p3xGk53TJKQWjFTSv8MdeCa7T05ZGN1D0388cTLOu4oduI/s1600/Floral+Tapestry+Class+Layout+Close+Up+1+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="207" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi42W3T4VgbZqGS9huUp8TATEbZzl4nHVRjhCdsjRr7SBzLZwzu2xFpX234G01d6ULxpcPPcxustnB5OaaZYq-EDl9yUOoN7p3xGk53TJKQWjFTSv8MdeCa7T05ZGN1D0388cTLOu4oduI/s320/Floral+Tapestry+Class+Layout+Close+Up+1+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
We will also use Close to my Heart's Bohemian Alphabet for our titles, and all ink, blocks and stamps are shared. The other fun thing with this particular paper pack is that it originally came with multiple sheets of 'My Stickease' that coordinate with the paper pack, you can see some sticker photo turns at the top, near the title and in the next close up are some fun circles.

Lately, after I complete a layout I have been making a card or two with the leftover scraps, none is made as of yet BUT soon I will have a great little card for a birthday or something. Also the current embellishments on this page aren't quite what I like to put on my page, but they are the perfect simple accents for begginners which is what most of the class will be, so I plan on pumping up the embellishments to my satifaction, I am thinking of posting a before and after shot to see the difference. What do you think?Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-85029680189821341812012-03-18T15:16:00.000-07:002012-03-18T15:16:05.386-07:00Tasty and FunctionalI have been very busy making lots of cards and layouts so I thought it was time for a change. I found this great craft on the Cricut Message boards and had to use it. These are clothes pin magnets topped with fruit from the Preserves Cartridge and matching recipe cards.

I actually have 3 sets of these, this is just the green fruit, there is also a red one and a variety fruit set. I like the green one because it is my favorite color and all the fruits look really great, such a variety on this cartridge.

Obviously one of the apples, there are five different apples on this cartridge, each with it's own distinct design, great for any fruit related project.

And a great pear, this is one of four pears on this cartridge and they are all very cool. You might be able to see the dots all over the fruit, I am limited to what I brought to Russia and can't get anymore papers and so on, so I had a great Close to my Heart background stamp and watermark stamped each layer of the cuts. Yes, it was a lot of work but it looks so much better than plain cardstock don't you think?

Finished off with matching Recipe cards, each design on the card was masked using the negative cutout from the fruit, a kind of stencil in with green ink, then topped off with a great flourish stamp from Close to my Heart. They are really cute and useful, I am hoping that they will make a great gift!Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-78463554249028649232012-03-13T03:58:00.001-07:002012-03-13T04:00:36.307-07:00Provincale Fair Flair<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Just a quick little post about this card, I finally made a layout and a card using the Provincale Fair paper line from Tinkering Ink. I have been holding on to this paper for about 3 years and was not sure what I was going to do with it. It ended up making the most beautiful layout and I was amazed by this little card. I am totally in love with the line drawn flower and painstakingly cut as many as I could out of one of the sheets. Then another paper had this great huge swirl across it, which made me fall even harder. So with the last cut flower and a small piece of patterned paper I created, what I think, is a beautiful card. Just pretty enough for any deserving person.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Even though it didn't really need it, I added some bling to my card, I had some dark blue Gemstones from Close to my Heart and sprinkled this card with them.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfMLUUMoYR3WCIQ4kitvpAJGetkfPX-2_jra8PXQoKYc-os7Oj44xoJ6c2_oULfDEzqE7qPZAjuTWbSI7LpwOqTzT64t6Y-nBIkA8OF1xBQSZAnu-z7QocKJ8neqwPH_FVi2Zbwln4f3M/s1600/Provincale+Fair+Birthday+Close+Up+2+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="319" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfMLUUMoYR3WCIQ4kitvpAJGetkfPX-2_jra8PXQoKYc-os7Oj44xoJ6c2_oULfDEzqE7qPZAjuTWbSI7LpwOqTzT64t6Y-nBIkA8OF1xBQSZAnu-z7QocKJ8neqwPH_FVi2Zbwln4f3M/s320/Provincale+Fair+Birthday+Close+Up+2+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
Then I added a great stamped 'Happy Birthday' in Outdoor Denim courtesy of Close to my heart and added some subtle touches like die cut flourish from the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge. I am falling again for this card and am happy that Plan A is taking effect, to use up my current stock of scrapbook supplies before I go home to Canada...I am well on my way!Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-64409836826806506952012-03-06T20:25:00.001-08:002012-03-06T20:27:27.958-08:00Birthday Bash of a Card<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I had gotten the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge before we left for Russia, so I had had some time to play with the cartridge. I would cut some words here and there, as we have seen in a previous post, but it was time to really dive into the full potential of this cartridge. I am only showing you the card today, but, I had also made a layout using this Imaginisce paper called All Kinds of Happy. With the leftover paper I made this fun card, good for boy or girl, with the cute dog in the party hat.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

After I pieces the dog together, I thought, 'How Plain.' and leaving my Cuttlebug back home in Canada I had to improvise, so out came the stickles! The paper already had little shots of glitter everywhere...I was just improving the overall look of it! Pop that dog on a handstand up with 3D foam tape and we had the start of an awesome card.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7tUITtpSoR2pTr7KRVfVv_8vh_4EIq1X8fg9ABafv3nb7HI7Vtx0mu8cxl2OVHXzAbQVRJ_-pJ92cm9dG0t6WPUMOsZ4w31MDkLHhB3Rg0sfQpLvFLhY60ZnIx5mSehb448Z9v41IKoQ/s1600/Dancing+Dog+Birthday+Close+Up+2+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="201" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7tUITtpSoR2pTr7KRVfVv_8vh_4EIq1X8fg9ABafv3nb7HI7Vtx0mu8cxl2OVHXzAbQVRJ_-pJ92cm9dG0t6WPUMOsZ4w31MDkLHhB3Rg0sfQpLvFLhY60ZnIx5mSehb448Z9v41IKoQ/s320/Dancing+Dog+Birthday+Close+Up+2+-+Carissa+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
To finish it off, I wanted the card to stay gender neutral, so ribbon was out. The coordinating pink dots was the back of another paper in that line and top it all off with a trio of buttons.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5AiQZBl44jeknMP2Sd77PGF1JLs4H0DX5Uip7sIxBfimPjE1lp9C5rBb9ISQ9wdE6DBs1HAEmJS1M5XjMivo9MCsUmQXLx9chuGf9LkiDFEP-0lwo_e7m4uE2LWbnHlYp_E1v7Z8e9Ok/s1600/Dancing+Dog+Birthday+Inside+-+Cariss+Peach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5AiQZBl44jeknMP2Sd77PGF1JLs4H0DX5Uip7sIxBfimPjE1lp9C5rBb9ISQ9wdE6DBs1HAEmJS1M5XjMivo9MCsUmQXLx9chuGf9LkiDFEP-0lwo_e7m4uE2LWbnHlYp_E1v7Z8e9Ok/s320/Dancing+Dog+Birthday+Inside+-+Cariss+Peach.JPG" /></a></div>
Let's not forget the inside of the card, this cartridge features a phrase function and it is awesome for all the words that say Celebrate! I choose the party hat to go with my dog and the little 'to' just cut right along with the phrase. As my Daughter would say 'Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!'Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-58205145213387058492012-03-05T17:07:00.000-08:002012-03-05T17:09:16.444-08:00A 'Bliss'ful LayoutYesterday I caught up on my picture taking...I had sooo many layouts and cards that needed to be photographed that it took me most of the afternoon. But, now caught up, I have a load of pictures to post for you!!! I decided to start with a layout, lately while perusing the blogosphere, I realized that there seems to be a shortage of layouts posted. I still love to use Close to my Heart Scrapbook Layouts, they are clear and I DO always get a great layout, I am no longer a consultant but still love all things Close to my Heart. This layout is all CTMH except 6 little buttons and Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist.

I tried to layer lots, so I first took CTMH new Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and cut a large Medallion, then I used that medallion as a mask for both pages, layering Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Coffee Shop/Creme de Chocolat/Pearl over the mask.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I used the same on a Tattered Angels Flourish Mask on a photo mat, punched my scalloped strips with a Martha Stewart punch, Inked all edges, added CTMH crochet ribbon and generic buttons, but it still needed something...

So I cut up the mask I used and used the pieces to embellish this great layout. I am not sure if I should classify this as Shabby Chic or Romantic, but I love this layout and will use my Cricut to make many more masks!!!!Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-46034813131096650942012-03-04T19:20:00.001-08:002012-03-04T19:22:15.543-08:00Peachs' ArtMarch is here are we are ready for all our snow to melt...we have not been able to get out the back door of our house since last year. I know that was only three months ago but I am ready for a warmer change. I had a great coffee with some of the other expat wives here is Sakhalin and the day before I was looking at the spot between 2 light sconces where a previous Happy Birthday banner was hanging and decided that it is too open a space to have nothing in it, so the question is what do you do? Do you change it with the seasons? Do you find some art or make some? Do you leave it blank so it can stare at you day in and day out? While we were living in Denver I had a collage frame and wooden 'P' hanging on the wall, I really loved the 'P' but it did not make it in the shipment, I assume that it is in storage? Not quite Sure...So my solution was to whip up this peachy sign with my Cricut, something to fill the space and to bring more personality to our home, which till now has been kinda boring with out the Christmas stuff around.

I broke out my brand new Sophisticated by Teresa Collins cartridge out and cut out Font 2 with shadow to complete my wall art. I cut the shadows first as I have made the mistake before of cutting the regular font out as large as it will cut and then the shadow feature won't cut because the font is too big.

In this cartridge is also a welded 'The' which came in very handy that I didn't have to piece that together. I did have to use different patterned paper as I was running low on my other paper.

I added this key to the bottom, it is not completed yet but I will be putting an 'est. 2004' on the line of the key as soon as I get my new gypsy, so I can weld the words together. I used subdued metallic paper for the key from DCWV and 3D foam taped everything to get the dimension I was looking for.

This font is really awesome because it has this great scroll in the letters, one of that ladies at the coffee morning commented that it looked like wrought iron, which is a huge compliment as I decorated the house with wrought iron and it doesn't break when being moved 30, 000 miles away. The paper was all Close to my Heart, a discontinued paper pack called Silhouette, still one of the prettiest I think.

Do you see the great scroll in the 'P'! Even my husband was happy and impressed when he came home later that night, if he likes it then I hit a home run! Even though the Christmas Bazaar is long gone, the Happy Hobby Craft Fair is just around the corner. This cards was originally made for the Bazaar but never sold, I am sure that it will this craft fair. I have some scrapbook supplies that I have been holding onto for 4 years or more, these papers are some of them, I bought them before I know what I should and shouldn't buy, I guess I was trying to mass an inventory. Now, being in Russia, I do not have access to any new papers and have chosen to either use it or sell it off at the end of this year. Out with the old, in with the new! I actually like the way that this card turned out, it's clean cut with a rugged edge to it, with all the buttons and sewing in and olive color it does scream boy, you know barely see the purple.

I had fun inking the edge of the card and cutting the sentiment out with the Birthday Bash Cartridge from Cricut. I added and sewed the cute buttons on the front. There was no circle originally but my 1 year old had a blast picking them off, did it turn out better...maybe! Just a little update, I am needing to do some more photographing, but I have been doing tons of projects lately. On my list this next week, taking photos and one more blog post before the end of the month, we'll see if that happens.Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-45758050668300814562012-02-23T22:38:00.000-08:002012-02-23T22:44:26.691-08:00A Princess of a Birthday<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here we are just after Christmas and Valentines, just waiting for the other holidays creep up on us. I am one of those lucky people who in my own direct family, between Christmas and Valentine's day have 10 BIRTHDAY'S to celebrate. It's a good things I am in Russia or good bye Christmas Cards, Hello, Birthday Cards. One of those birthdays just happens to be my daughter's 6th birthday, I know, it's a big one! So to each girl in her class we send out one of this too cute Princess invitations. Everyone loved the invites and asked me where I bought them....I said 'bought?'. NO, my handy-dandy Cricut and I made these cards. All the cardstock was from Close to my Heart, absolutely the best cardstock and cuts like a dream. The Belle paper on the front of the card was from a Disney Mega pack I bought, the inside had all the need to know information! I actually used the cut out crowns on the edge of the cards as the 'for', 'when', 'where' and RSVP information, no waste here. Belle was a little difficult to piece together because her eyes would be easier in a larger size, I ended up adding the whites of the eyes with a white gel pen, it works too! We had lots of fun with Crowns I cut on the cricut and let the girls decorate, each girl had a blast putting ribbon, jewels and flowers on thier crowns. A good time for all the girls, here is a picture of the 11 girls we had at out house!

We also served my last box of Duncan Hines Chocolate cupcakes and I made these great cupcake toppers for them. They were really easy with just and oval, sihouette, toothpick and some Stickles for the glitter. Girls were choosing their favorite ones and taking the toppers home.

Our centerpiece of the party was this cute 3D castle that you can find near the end of 'Once upon a Princess' Cartridge. It didn't take me too long to make, and it was just the right height for our table. It is only about 10" wide by 7" deep by 12" high. The girls loved opening the door to see what was inside...nothing!
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivpNRPGJ5388Vs5_ySAgpw2PI96rcaalQfj7N2eTYtGkpn0dMJfSetxqALU8QD86uhg_yFaqlJFBwpX-ehvO4NlymLzJZ3kmaQCMBJQ6pj0Jufqz53OYupZoa2TYcUH3TTBHiyWCR1oXE/s1600/Princess+Birthday+Banner+-+By+Carissa.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="87" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivpNRPGJ5388Vs5_ySAgpw2PI96rcaalQfj7N2eTYtGkpn0dMJfSetxqALU8QD86uhg_yFaqlJFBwpX-ehvO4NlymLzJZ3kmaQCMBJQ6pj0Jufqz53OYupZoa2TYcUH3TTBHiyWCR1oXE/s320/Princess+Birthday+Banner+-+By+Carissa.JPG" /></a></div>
I also made a banner that says 'Happy Birthday' with Princess's at the beginning(Ariel), middle(Belle) and end(Jasmine). Each pennant is only 6" high, perfect for such a long word. I used Glitter paper for the letters, Disney Mega Pack paper for the toppers and Close to my Heart cardstock for the base. It was easy to make and the banner is still up to this day! My daughter passed from 5 to 6 with all the grace and beauty of a real princess. It was worth it!Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-69174768696079606292012-01-08T02:38:00.000-08:002012-01-08T02:39:21.059-08:00Going strong in the New YearFinally figured out how to add posts to my blog over here in Russia, I apparently need a new computer! I am back, full tilt in scrapbook/card making mode and have been pumping out some great cards and awesome layouts, but today I want to share a card I made last year, of course last year was only a couple of days ago but I digress, circle and shape cards are all the rage at the moment and thanks to my cricut, I am able to make them. I love the circle cards and even though in my ex-patriot community there aren't a lot of babies around, every so often a cute little baby does come home with some one, so this card is for them.

I have had this paper forever, it is Making Memories and I think it was called Animal Crackers (boy), I also used a Making Memories rub-on for the cute 'little one' sentiment and topped it off with a ribbon I had lying around.

The close up is of the paper and the buttons, the paper was flocked which is why I held onto it for so long. A fun, soft card for a cute, soft baby. The buttons were from Close to my Heart, which I am very sad but had to give up my consultant status when I moved over here! Still some of my favorite scrapbook items and my sister still sells it, so I can always get something. Just a little something to get you all by till I make my next post, I am hoping to keep up my blog with lots of new ideas and inspire some of you!Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-60901278747029947912011-11-17T19:29:00.001-08:002012-03-06T22:26:09.827-08:00Finally I am posting for the first time since we moved to Russia. We have been here for almost 4 months now and it is an adjustment. Life is so convient in the States and since moving here, I only go out once a week to grocery shop and have had some difficulty finding some items I need. However that does give me lots of time to craft and have just finished creating some beautiful cards for the local expat Charity Christmas Bazaar. In the next couple of weeks I will show you some of the lovely things I have been making in my extra, extra spare time. This post is about Colorado and how I miss my friends there, but I made some great cards with a Cowboy theme, just to reminisce.

Split the difference and a gender neutral, just for fun and the sticker was cute. All supplies were Close to my Heart, Sasparilla Line.

My husbands company is transferring us to a new location. We are on the move to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Sakhalin Islands, RUSSIA. I am excited to explore another part of our great world and have been frantically been selling and condensing my scrapbooking collection as we will be moving from 2800sqft to 1500sqft. I also have to give up my Close to my Heart Consultant Status as I cannot get any of thier fabulous products shipped there. I do plan to still keep my blog but the direction of my posts will be different as I will be focusing, not on classes, but catching up with my personal scrapbooking and enter various contests. I hope that I will meet some other expaitriates that also share my passion so that we can scrap together. In the coming months look for some posts regarding life in the Sakhalin Islands along with pictures. Wish me Luck and inspiration.Carissa Peachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14070139632082553202noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325817953595001711.post-18849327780406981932011-01-16T09:25:00.001-08:002011-01-16T10:04:39.007-08:00New Year, New Goals, New Idea Book!This year I decided to be pro-active with my businesses. I started doing family photography late last year and that is going at just the right pace. But this year I have decided to revamp my Close to my Heart and how I am going to run things, just like corporate did this year. Corporate Close to my Heart made the change of only 2Idea Books per year. Now the new Spring/Summer Idea Book is packed full of extra paper packs, embellishments, chipboard and other fun stuff all starting in February! <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj4TctQFLO8NCwdYya3hzk3Z-2l3G5pJ8y4M4lluXf7lQYWyoCwRrGLhM5r1cG5UcE_osZ1-7_NZiIKcYU2h-jlZhiL1_FKgvNf2Tb4B7xGoyFNHCt4QvOitq8bWtLvSJBRvDXl8CZsno/s1600/2011SS_IdeaBook_cover.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 272px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj4TctQFLO8NCwdYya3hzk3Z-2l3G5pJ8y4M4lluXf7lQYWyoCwRrGLhM5r1cG5UcE_osZ1-7_NZiIKcYU2h-jlZhiL1_FKgvNf2Tb4B7xGoyFNHCt4QvOitq8bWtLvSJBRvDXl8CZsno/s320/2011SS_IdeaBook_cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562837578597396258" /></a><br />The new and improved Idea Book still has some great features like the Stamp of the Month, Workshops on the Go, Exclusive CTMH colors and same great stamp sets.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR5jwwmkVRb1MmTrq2NBZFnmV5pKrGTCxytZZqsTrhyH0JwgU2BslTl7fesIHImXcKecaJVYREnrRLv9JV9AA6Tuff2haTW3FC95ioSWMILGb0kcy8GL-AENv9yKb3AFcRAFB8pwJh0Rc/s1600/0111_SOM_Text.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 272px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR5jwwmkVRb1MmTrq2NBZFnmV5pKrGTCxytZZqsTrhyH0JwgU2BslTl7fesIHImXcKecaJVYREnrRLv9JV9AA6Tuff2haTW3FC95ioSWMILGb0kcy8GL-AENv9yKb3AFcRAFB8pwJh0Rc/s320/0111_SOM_Text.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562837573288073586" /></a><br />The changes I intend on making will hopefully excite and encourage those to paticipate and enjoy scrapboking once again. I am keeping all my day crops, classes (maybe adding a few), same products and help that everyone recieved last year. Changes will include incentives, purchase a paper pack out of the new Idea Book and attend either the evening classes for the month OR the all-day Saturday crop for FREE! On top of that, for every $25 in new CTMH product you buy, you will get an additional $10 of open stock product in my studio. The great clearance! For those who attend classes and crops on a regular basis this is a great deal for them, they spend and little and get alot...FREE, every month! For those who read this blog, I have not forgotten you, I will be giving away <strong>Blog Can</strong>dy once a month, you must be a follower of this blog and leave a comment on one of my posts during that month. <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLxBLDvfgKh0Nm9E9MVNh9wFcf6Uez7C_1MaWMCYnMHA9YimSQ-48e-AwVbAgaNUDuXChqa7z56KxyoxvkfFrU-Ff2Mj3-Mqib3ELY8ar2Ue3NZ08djC-E9rChE7QGhj55Gwmif2s_lO0/s1600/CC_Jan_11_ImageGallery.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 272px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLxBLDvfgKh0Nm9E9MVNh9wFcf6Uez7C_1MaWMCYnMHA9YimSQ-48e-AwVbAgaNUDuXChqa7z56KxyoxvkfFrU-Ff2Mj3-Mqib3ELY8ar2Ue3NZ08djC-E9rChE7QGhj55Gwmif2s_lO0/s320/CC_Jan_11_ImageGallery.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562837567768042754" /></a><br />As for me, I will be showcasing 1-2 paper packs a month, this month I have awesome cards and a fantastic layout already made with the new 'Wings' paper pack. All of these cards contain Close to my Heart paper and each one so individual! <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcSd1vBkMUJY0eY5HNQNAhwnhDRPrdP_3NaMsOJ8wYv9TZX8Forvdsin3BPxRpeQtJR6Zo9LCRtkJOVDxLF_UPuIBFypoM-UrQCYkz_zm1XK6b5vSr0hunVyKdVmtcFg2rkgon8vzYqXU/s1600/IMG_9579.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 254px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcSd1vBkMUJY0eY5HNQNAhwnhDRPrdP_3NaMsOJ8wYv9TZX8Forvdsin3BPxRpeQtJR6Zo9LCRtkJOVDxLF_UPuIBFypoM-UrQCYkz_zm1XK6b5vSr0hunVyKdVmtcFg2rkgon8vzYqXU/s320/IMG_9579.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5553174594294167346" /></a><br />This one has some great circles on it and I used a very old paper pack, Just Chillin, I still love the colors in this palette and the retro snowflakes.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_2D5hplCkxMBwe1mFPnZL4OukW-2Vw8yfHVJDTi6qgZvlH7PEP59GD4iNYKZt57DZKF8yFG3_APgCY8NV8hRcktcbkxJkyvFnfk7097E7swcHfXM1ijlnS-nClgSnRAHaVNjKMkbesME/s1600/IMG_9572.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 244px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_2D5hplCkxMBwe1mFPnZL4OukW-2Vw8yfHVJDTi6qgZvlH7PEP59GD4iNYKZt57DZKF8yFG3_APgCY8NV8hRcktcbkxJkyvFnfk7097E7swcHfXM1ijlnS-nClgSnRAHaVNjKMkbesME/s320/IMG_9572.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5553174585474406274" /></a><br />This card is made entirely from cardstock alone.
